cosplay

Well, this is supposed to be my Cosplay section. Apart from the costumes that I have done (theoretically) and worn, there will also be examples of cosplays by other people. It seems that most of them will be Visual or Gothic related outfits; even so, I don't think I'll restrict the section to Cosplays of just this kind.

What does "Cosplay" mean?

"Cosplay" comes from the English expression "Costume Play". So, a cosplay is nothing but a costume after all. Anyway, it is usually necessary to point out their incredible quality. It is often not the typical outfit worn on Halloween, which can be obtained with a little money or effort. It's at times something that asks much more work.

Do you have to pay attention to other things appart from the "costume" itself?

Taking in mind what I've seen so far, cosplayers who work hard on their costumes, not only spend time on the "clothes" themselves, but also on the make-up and hair. Along with these elements, also every accesory demands attention till the slightest detail. Appart from the "physical appearance" itself, there are also people who intend to behave in the same way the person they cosplay does (at least when photo are being taken). After all, if you have spend so much time on the custome, the make-up and the hair, why not try to appear as similar as the original character as possible?

Do you know about Cosplays?

No, not at all. I'm just a beginner. So far (date: 16-08-2002), I have just worn one once, and I'm finishing with another two. I have almost no idea about these things, I just do it as well as I can, and I try not to make a fool of myself too much. If someone wants opinions or help, it will be better for them, not to ask me for them; I doubt I can help them. Anyway, there are aorund there people who have been working on cosplays for years and years now and who know a lot about them. So, I better ask for pardon, if I say or do something which is wrong concerning this subject.
